Newswise — Drs. Rex Hamilton and Kevin M. Miller of the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA are among the few ophthalmologists in the country trained to implant the presbyopia-correcting intraocular lenses in patients who have undergone cataract surgery.

Dr. Rex Hamilton: An assistant professor of ophthalmology and director of the UCLA Laser Refractive Center at the Jules Stein Eye Institute, Dr. Hamilton is trained in laser vision correction and has extensive experience working with the latest technologies. His areas of expertise are new keratorefractive surgical technologies, phakic intraocular lenses, accommodative intraocular lenses and applications of wavefront technology. He has authored numerous book chapters on intraocular lenses, including the new presbyopia-correcting lenses. Hamilton is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the International Society of Refractive Surgery.

Dr. Kevin M. Miller: A professor of clinical ophthalmology at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA, Dr. Miller specializes in intraocular lenses, refractive corrective surgery, ophthalmic optics and surgical outcomes. Miller is a consultant for several lens manufacturers and has participated in clinical trials for a variety of implantable artificial lenses. He is chairman of the American Academy of Ophthalmology's Basic and Clinical Science Course, Section 3 Committee (Optics, Refraction and Contact Lenses) and a member of the Academy's Anterior Segment Knowledge Base Panel and Anterior Segment Preferred Practice Pattern Committee. He is also on the editorial board for Comprehensive Ophthalmology Update.
