Newswise — Chicago, IL (June 22): Explore significant research developments and treatment advances relevant to oncology pharmacists presented at the ASPHO annual meeting at the Updates from the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (ASPHO) Annual Meeting webinar on July 14, 2016, from 12:00 – 1:00 pm CST. This is the fourth in the Emerging Issues in Oncology Webinar Series for Board Certified Oncology Pharmacy recertification opportunities presented by the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA).

Dr. Susannah Koontz, PharmD, BCOP, FHOPA, principal at Koontz Oncology Consulting, LLC, will lead the discussion. Koontz serves as a consultant for pharmacy practice, medical education and clinical research in the fields of pediatric hematology, oncology and hematopoietic cell transplantation. Koontz has held faculty appointments at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy and the University of Texas (Austin) College of Pharmacy and has trained over two dozen PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy residents.

The Emerging Issues in Oncology Webinars series is part of the new educational programming HOPA has made available to help pharmacists fulfill their BCOP recertification needs. The five webinars presented throughout the year review key findings from clinical and translational research, and data presented at national oncology meetings.
