Newswise — October 15, 2020 - The National Conference for Nurse Practitioners (NCNP) Fall Virtual event will be held online October 21 through 24, featuring educational sessions relevant to advanced clinical practice and offering nurse practitioners the necessary tools to improve the overall quality of patient care.

The Virtual Summit will be kicked off by keynote speakers Margaret A. Fitzgerald, DNP, FNP-BC, NP-C, FAANP, CSP, FAAN, DCC, FNAP, Fitzgerald Health Education Associates, LLC / Greater Lawrence Family Health Center, and Sophia Chu Rodgers, DNP ACNP, FNP, FAANP, FCCM, Lovelace Health Systems. They will discuss emerging therapies in prevention and treatment of COVID-19 and identify higher-risk patient populations in their session “COVID-19: Challenges in Primary and Acute Care.”

Sessions during the four-day conference will cover the latest updates on COVID-19 as well as current treatment guidelines, pharmacologic management of obesity, medication management for older adults, sepsis, hypertension management, prescribing for anxiety and depression, new drug updates, among other topics.

NCNP Fall Virtual attendees can earn more than 55 continuing education credits and more than 36 advanced pharmacology (Rx) credits, double the amount offered at previous in-person events. The sessions will be available on demand for 90 days at the conclusion of the live event. With the virtual platform, attendees will have the ability to interact with speakers, peers and to network in the Exhibitor Showcase featuring products from vendors and partners.
