New Open Access Journal Itch Launched by Wolters Kluwer

Newswise — May 31, 2016 – Wolters Kluwer, a leading global provider of information and point of care solutions for the healthcare industry, in partnership with the International Forum for the Study of Itch (IFSI), is pleased to announce a new peer-reviewed, open access journal, Itch. The journal publishes original scientific papers that contribute to our understanding of the basic mechanisms and clinical aspects of itch (pruritus).
“The launch of Itch comes at an auspicious time,” said Ethan A Lerner, MD, PhD, Editor-In-Chief of Itch. “Advances in understanding underlying mechanisms, its impact on quality of life, and the development of new investigative and therapeutic approaches call for a journal dedicated to this evolving field.”
Itch will publish original articles, systematic reviews, commentaries, brief communications, and letters to the Editor. Content ranges from the molecular, genomic, proteomic and systems levels, to clinical diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes research. Articles on itch-related subjects from the disciplines of dermatology, internal medicine, neurology, neuroscience, allergy and immunology, psychology, pharmacology, palliative medicine and epidemiology will be considered for publication.
