New Brunswick, N.J. (Dec. 9, 2020) – Rutgers University–New Brunswick climatologist David A. Robinson is available for interviews on the extreme warmth in New Jersey in November and 2020 to date, as well as the 10 snowiest and 10 least snowy seasons since 1895.

“Last month tied 2009 as having the third-warmest November temperature in New Jersey since record-keeping began in 1895. The temperature averaged 49.2 degrees statewide – 4 degrees above the norm for 1981 to 2010 – and last month joined six other Novembers this century in being among the seven warmest in last 126 years,” according to Robinson, New Jersey State Climatologist and a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Geography in the School of Arts and Sciences. “Meteorological fall (September, October and November) tied with 2016 and 2017 as the sixth warmest on record and there’s a good chance that 2020 will be New Jersey’s second warmest year on record.”
