Research Alert

In a new study published on March 9, 2022, researchers at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine present a comprehensive genome-wide map comparing the genetic makeup of the 14 most common strains of laboratory mice. These strains are often used interchangeably in biomedical research, so the authors urge researchers to be aware of the newly identified genetic differences. The findings can also inspire new forward and reverse genetic studies.
