From the authors: “[Cyclophosphamide]-induced cystitis causes NLRP3-dependent hippocampal inflammation leading to depression symptoms in rats. This study proposes the first-ever causative explanation of the previously anecdotal link between benign bladder disorders and mood disorders.” 

This study is highlighted as one of February's "best of the best" as part of the American Physiological Society's APSselect program.
