New Research Finds Liver Stiffness Thresholds Can Predict Disease Progression

It was previously unclear how liver stiffness measurements may be used to identify individuals with fatty liver who are at higher risk of developing more advanced liver disease. In this study, the authors identified optimal thresholds for liver stiffness that can help to identify individuals with fatty liver who are at higher risk for developing cirrhosis and liver failure. These thresholds can predict disease progression and clinical outcomes.
