Article title: "Epigenomic mechanisms of alcohol-induced impaired differentiation of skeletal muscle stem cells; role of Class IIA histone deacetylases"

Authors: Katherine Adler, Patricia E. Molina and Liz Simon

From the authors: "These findings suggest that an alcohol-mediated increase in Class IIA [histone deacetylase] expression contributes to decreased myoblast differentiation by downregulating MEF2C, a transcription factor critical for myogenesis."

This study is highlighted as one of October’s “best of the best” as part of the American Physiological Society’s APSselect program.
