Prostate Cancer Risk Reduced By Beta-Carotene Supplements
Blitz & AssociatesBeta-carotene supplements can sharply reduce the risk of prostate cancer in men with low beta-carotene blood levels, according to new findings released by researchers at the Harvard Medical School. An earlier study by Harvard researchers showed that men consuming large quantities of tomatoes rich in lycopene, had only about half the risk of prostate cancer as did men who consumed little of the nutrient. Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of death from cancer in men.
