Mount Sinai REACH Program to Host Women’s Health Fair
Newswise — New York, NY – May 2, 2019 – In honor of National Women’s Health Week, the REACH Program (Respectful and Equitable Access to Comprehensive Healthcare) at Mount Sinai is hosting a Women’s Health Fair for the Harlem and surrounding communities. The Mount Sinai Mobile Mammography van will be on-site providing attendees with free mammogram screenings, offering women the opportunity to receive high-quality, state-of-the-art, advanced digital 3D mammography preventative care. Additional free health screenings include HIV/Hepatitis C testing, resources, wellness activities, acupressure and fun giveaways.
The REACH Program provides a patient-centered, harm reduction approach to primary care for persons who use alcohol and other drugs, and for individuals living with hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection and provides comprehensive primary care services, including office-based buprenorphine treatment, stigma-free risk reduction counseling, HCV treatment, overdose response training, and psychosocial assessment and support including support groups.
