The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Under Secretary of Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) Dr. Reginald Brothers (center right) and DHS Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations Deputy Assistant Commissioner Christopher Maston (center left) cut the ribbon for S&T’s new Maryland Test Facility (MdTF) June 26. The MdTF is a controlled environment for laboratory and scenario-based testing to evaluate candidate approaches, biometric technologies and other operational processes under simulated airport entry and exit conditions. Brothers and Maston are joined by co-leads for the Apex Air Entry/Exit Re-Engineering project, S&T’s Robert Burns, project director (left) and CPB’s Kim Mills (right).
