Roger founded Newswise in 1992, before the WWW, as the first online resource of this kind for journalists. He is still looking for new ways to stay on the cutting edge of communication.
Chief Executive Officer
Jessica grew up in Bethesda, Maryland. After graduating from George Washington University with a major in International Business, she moved to Athens Greece where she began her entrepreneurial career. She founded an art tour company, AthenArt. Jessica also served as Managing Director of Monaco, a company providing services to major car companies in which she gained experience in all aspects (sales, purchasing, industrial workflow productivity, and quality improvement) of international markets.
In 2010, after anticipating the current Greek crisis, she relocated to Charlottesville and began working for Newswise as Director of Client Development. Utilizing her international business experience, in 2012 she became the CEO. She is responsible for maintaining and growing Newswise as a leader in the communication of science-based news.
Stefan has been co-developing Newswise since its earliest, pre-internet days, and takes a special interest in the creative deployment of emerging technologies.
Debbie has been with Newswise since 2006 after being a stay at home Mom for 3 years. She is responsible for all accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and bookkeeping for Newswise. Debbie feels blessed to have the opportunity to work at Newswise part time so she can still fit in her responsibilities of managing a home with three daughters and her husband.

Thom lives in Charlottesville with his wife, Jenny, and their pet Irish Setter, Finnegan. When not at the office, he enjoys reading, writing, playing bass, piano, and guitar, cooking, riding his vintage Honda motorcycle, and doing outdoor activities with his friends such as hiking and fly-fishing in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.

Siobhain joined Newswise in the fall of 2012 to help develop relationships and communicate services with prospective members. After graduation, she decided to remain in the beautiful Charlottesville area instead of returning to her hometown in Northern Virginia. Siobhain loves being so close to her alma mater, and continues to take advantage of the beautiful grounds and amazing libraries that inspire her passion for reading and writing.
