NOTE TO EDITORS/NEWS DIRECTORS: Looking for a good feature for Veterans Day? If so, you need look no further than Roy May. He’s a 12-year Army (82nd Airborne) veteran with combat experience who is now attending Texas A&M—and he’s not just attending. He is a member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets, serving alongside—and inspiring—young men and women who are 15 or so years his junior. Also, he ran for one of Texas A&M’s coveted Yell Leader positions—and was overwhelmingly elected by the 50,000+ student body. On Saturday prior to Veterans Day he will be highly visible at Kyle Field, Texas A&M’s football stadium, helping lead yells (Aggies don’t cheer; they yell) before a sell-out crowd of more than 87,000 and a national TV audience. In addition to being a veteran and current member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets, May serves in the Army Reserves. His wife is also a veteran, and they are the proud parents of a 7-year-old daughter.
