Newswise — Babson Marketing Division Chair and Professor Victoria Crittenden has received the 2013 Pearson Prentice Hall’s Solomon-Marshall-Stuart Award for Innovative Excellence in Marketing Education (American Marketing Association Teaching and Learning SIG). This award serves to identify full-time marketing educators who have designed an innovative method of teaching marketing students or who have designed classroom innovations(s).

Crittenden is recognized both for her contributions to the field of marketing and for the impact she has made in the lives of her students and others. She is also recognized for creating an innovative project for her course, Digital Marketing Innovation in the Principles of Marketing. The project, the brand fan page, allows students to gain hands on digital marketing and social media experience. According to one of the judges, Crittenden’s “teaching innovation is truly impactful and unique, engaging students in a real-world intersection of marketing theory and practice.” Crittenden taught Digital Marketing Innovation in the Principles of Marketing at Boston College before coming to Babson.

She accepted the award in person and shared her insights August 10, 2013 at the American Marketing Association Summer Educator’s Conference. Award winners extend the reach of their thought leadership by presenting to colleagues at the Conference.

Crittenden’s research has been published in journals such as the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Marketing Letters, Sloan Management Review, Psychology & Marketing, Business Horizons, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Journal of Business Research, Business Strategy Review, Corporate Reputation Review, Journal of Public Affairs, Journal of Personal Selling & Sales Management, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Strategic Marketing, Information and Management, Organizations and Markets in Emerging Economies, and International Journal of Production Economics.
