Newswise — Bethesda, MD – Former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle is a featured speaker for the National Center for Disaster Medicine and Public Health workshop, “Learning in Disaster Health: A Continuing Education Workshop,” in Washington, DC. The workshop will take place Sept. 17-18 at the Georgetown University Hotel and Conference Center.
The workshop will focus on education and training in disaster health and provide an interdisciplinary academic forum. A number of leading experts will participate in breakout sessions to discuss the implications of the latest research and practice in disaster health learning, encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, and identify potential solutions for maximizing learning in a resource-constrained environment.
Senator Daschle, who is currently serving as Senior Policy Advisor for the global law firm DLA Piper, will provide closing keynote remarks on September 18th.
“I am honored to be speaking for the National Center,” said Daschle. “This workshop is a unique opportunity to discuss the solutions to challenges faced by our nation’s responders.”
