Dayton Duncan, noted author, historian and co-creator of "Louis & Clark: The Journey of the Corps of Discovery", will speak and receive an honorary degree at Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, N.H., during commencement on Sunday, May 16. Dayton, who has served as a political reporter and press secretary for several presidential campaigns, has won numerous awards for his writing and filmmaking.
Vertamae Grosvenor, poet, actress and cultural correspondent for National Public Radio, will also address the college's degree recipients.
