Thom Barthelmess, curator of the Butler Children's Literature Center at Dominican University and lecturer in Dominican's Graduate School of Library and Information Science, is available for recommendations of the best books to give as holiday gifts for young people, as well as what makes a good book for young people.

"In a season overcome with ill-fitting sweaters and batteries-not-included gadgets, books make the perfect gift. These titles promise afternoons full of cozy, fireplace-adjacent escape, and there’s absolutely no assembly required," Barthelmess says.

In addition to his responsibilities at Dominican, Barthelmess currently serves as jury chair for the annual Boston Globe-Horn Book Awards and is past president of the ALA's Association for Library Services to Children.
