Todres has completed extensive research on a range of issues related to children's rights and child well being. He serves as a regular advisor to nongovernmental organizations working on legislative and policy initiatives to address trafficking and commercial exploitation of children, including as Child Rights Advisor to ECPAT-USA (End Child Prostitution and Trafficking). He serves as chair-elect of the Association of American Law Schools section on Children and Law. He served (2012-2013) on the Institute of Medicine and National Research Council Committee on Sexual Exploitation and Sex Trafficking of Minors in the U.S. Todres holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School and a B.A. from Clark University.
