DEPAUL'S INTERNATIONAL FINANCE AND MARKETING PROGRAM ATTRACTS TOP BUSINESS STUDENTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD

Top students from around the world are coming to Chicago to enroll in DePaul University's unique international Master of Business Administration program that integrates marketing and finance with an international focus.

Designed with advice from international business leaders, the MBA in International Marketing and Finance (MBA/IMF) is an intensive 18-month curriculum that teaches two critical skills for business people in emerging world markets--the ability to market products and the financial background to do it profitably.

In the first two years, applications for the program have more than doubled, from 70 to 162. Thirty-five students, with an average of four years of work experience, graduated from the current class in March. Students have represented countries as wide-ranging as England, Ireland, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Czech Republic, Poland, Russia, Brazil, Korea, Thailand, Turkey, India, Singapore, the People's Republic of China and Vietnam, as well as the United States.

Students join DePaul's Kellstadt Graduate School of Business faculty in a hands-on curriculum based on extensive contact with international business leaders and internships with multinational firms.

All students serve internships--American students with multinational businesses overseas and international students with companies in the United States. Students have interned at organizations such as Arthur Andersen & Co., Baxter Healthcare Corp., Citibank, Eastman Kodak Co., Euro RSCG, LaSalle National Bank; ABN AMRO; Leo Burnett Co. Inc.; Levi Strauss & Co.; Rhone-Poulenc Rorer Pharmaceuticals Inc.; Rockwell International Corp., Saatchi & Saatchi, and Siemens.

Student Galina Klimenko, a Moscow native who interned with Coopers & Lybrand, said, "The program's emphasis on teamwork has accelerated and deepened the learning process. Working shoulder-to-shoulder with experienced, diverse and motivated professionals is the most beneficial part of the program."
