Fogo's an expertise in areas of social aspects of the sixties, and understanding popular culture of the sixties with particular emphasis on John Lennon and the Beatles. He has been interviewed locally (The Salt Lake Tribune, Deseret News) and nationally (The New York Times, Boston Globe, Los Angeles Times) on issues of popular culture.

Fogo authored the book, I Read the News Today: The Social Drama of John Lennon’s Death (Rowan and Littlefield, 1994). His Ph.D. dissertation is titled: “Come Together Over me: Generational Memory and Social Drama in the Death of John Lennon."

Papers Fogo has written include: “The Man Who Shot John Lennon: Making Sense of a Senseless Killing.”
