Market Improves for Graduates, But Early Bird, who Can 'Tweet,' Gets the Work

On Wednesday, 5/29/13, the Wall Street Journal published an article titled “Africa’s Malaria Battle: Fake Drug Pipeline Undercuts Progress.” The piece outlines a counterfeit pharmaceutical problem that is top of mind at Saint Mary’s College where chemistry researchers have developed Paper Analytical Devices (PADs) that can screen whether an antimalarial drug is real.
At a time when the national dialogue about higher education is centered on cost and value, Saint Mary’s College is proud to announce the Four-Year Graduation Promise. Starting in the fall with the incoming Class of 2017, students who follow the promise’s guidelines are guaranteed to graduate in four years or the College will pay for any additional courses a student needs to earn her degree. No other college or university in the area offers such a promise.

Two college students have come up with a self-affirming mobile application for women called "Beautiful You."
The "Beautiful You" App, launched this month by Saint Mary's College students, promotes positive body image and a favorable life outlook. Available on iTunes for $0.99, "Beautiful You" is a great app for women to have to keep New Year's resolutions.
