Newswise — Bethesda, Md - Career Army officers, husband and wife, and Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) alumni Col. (Dr.) Leon Moores and Col. (Dr.) Lisa Moores, are interviewed in one of three segments of an upcoming program, “Army Elite,” which is set to air September 22 at 10 p.m. on the Military Channel.

“Army Elite,” a one-hour special, profiles successful men and women who received their professional training from the Army and developed great expertise as practicing professionals in the medical field and intelligence. In addition to compelling individual profiles, this special showcases the best projects and accomplishments of these elite groups within the Army.

Leon Moores, a West Point alumnus, is a 1990 graduate of USU’s F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine. He is a pediatric neurosurgeon and a professor of Surgery at USU and is currently assigned as the Commander of the Fort George G. Meade U.S. Army Medical Activity and Kimbrough Ambulatory Care Center in Laurel, Md.

Lisa Moores is a 1989 alumna of USU’s medical school and serves as its Assistant Dean for Clinical Sciences. She is a pulmonary-critical care specialist and an associate professor of Medicine at USU.

She is an Air Force ROTC graduate of The Ohio State University.
