Newswise — Texas Tech University’s Vietnam Center and Archive and The Johns Hopkins Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and will hold a conference focused on applying counterinsurgency lessons learned in Vietnam to the U.S.’ two current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The two-day conference, “Lessons Learned, Lessons Lost: Counterinsurgency From Vietnam to Iraq and Afghanistan,” takes place from 8:45 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday (March 4) and from 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Friday (March 5) at the Kenney Auditorium of the SAIS Nitze Building in Washington, D.C.
Experts from academia, government, the military and think tanks will speak throughout the conference.
Texas Tech’s Vietnam Center and Archive has hosted its annual conference in Lubbock since 1993. This is the center’s first time to host the conference outside of Lubbock and in coordination with SAIS.
