Unexpected Toughness Marks Cancer Cells in the Blood
University of IowaA University of Iowa study suggests that cancer cells are more resistant than normal cells to the powerful fluid forces found in the bloodstream. This resistance to fluid shear stress could provide a biomarker to improve detection and monitoring of circulating cancer cells in blood.
