Newswise — Going on 20 years, the expertise of DIARECT AG is the design, manufacture and sales of recombinant and native antigens to the global IVD market.
We provide our customers with over 150 antigens, and our product range is constantly expanding. The major product lines are:
- Recombinant Allergens, food- and aeroallergens
- Autoimmune Antigens and corresponding Monoclonal Human Chimeric Antibodies, for use as positive controls and calibrators
- Infectious Disease Antigens, mainly for tick-borne disease diagnostics
Our products are all produced and tested using strict guidelines to ensure high quality, lot-to-lot consistency and therefore distinguished performance in various diagnostic applications.
To meet today’s requirements for assay development, we recently launched a set of Biotinylated Autoantigens. Some second-generation ELISA technologies, e.g. bead-based arrays, use biotinylated antigens and subsequent conjugation to streptavidin-coated surfaces/beads. Using this approach the strength of attachment of antigens to the base is increased, which results in higher assay sensitivities.
Bead-based technologies for in-vitro diagnostics provide several advantages compared to traditional single protein measurement techniques, including:
- high sensitivity
- low sample volume
- lower costs
- rapid turnover while generating reproducible data
- ease of performance
- elimination of the need for trained personnel and specialized procedures
For this purpose we provide several of our autoimmune antigens in a biotinylated form and more are under development.
