WHO: American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS)

WHAT: Scientists from around the world will gather to share the latest groundbreaking scientific discoveries and industry developments at the 2013 AAPS Annual Meeting and Exposition. The event will bring together more than 8,000 scientists, business leaders, government officials, students and policymakers to discuss current initiatives underway aimed at improving global health through advances in pharmaceutical sciences. The meeting features nearly 105 programming sessions, including more than 50 symposia and roundtables.

FEATURED SPEAKERS: • Rye Barcott, author of the best-selling book It Happened on the Way to War, a TED Fellow and World Economic Forum Young Global leader. In his memoir, he presents lessons about how to form diverse, nimble teams to tackle our greatest challenges and make a profound impact in combat, community development and corporations;• Katherine Holland, most recently vice president and general manager of IBM's Global Life Sciences Industry, sharing more than 35 years of global leadership, strategy, business development, and business process transformation experience; and • Steven Marc Zeitels, M.D., Eugene B. Casey Professor of Laryngeal Surgery at Harvard Medical School and the director of the Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Laryngeal Surgery and Voice Rehabilitation. He is regarded as a surgical innovator, known for creating office-based laryngeal laser surgery and pioneering novel laser applications to treat dysplasia and cancer as well as laryngeal papillomatosis, polyps and nodules.
