Newswise — The Academy of Management Entrepreneurship Division has awarded the Mentor Award to Babson Entrepreneurship Professor Zach Zacharakis.

The Mentor Award recognizes extraordinary contributions in the area of mentoring. The award is one of two career service awards that recognizes long-term contributions made towards the mission of the Division.

The award is given to an individual who has provided exceptional mentoring in entrepreneurship education.

It recognizes exceptional mentoring activities at all educational levels in the field of entrepreneurship. The field of entrepreneurship includes, but is not limited to, the areas of individual entrepreneurship, corporate intrapreneurship, new venture formation, small business management, and family business.

“Like so many other entrepreneurship scholars and educators, I would not be where I am today without the guidance and direction I received from Zach. He is helpful to so many as they have entered the field and then guided them along a path that fits best for them. Whether it’s assistance with teaching, research, writing, or getting networked within the academy, Zach continues to be a guiding light for us all,” said Professor Andrew Corbett, Entrepreneurship Division Chair and Faculty Director for the John E. & Alice L. Butler Venture Accelerator.
