Newswise — Dr. Blaine McCormick, a nationally recognized scholar on the business practices of Benjamin Franklin, is available for interviews to discuss the famous statesman and entrepreneur. McCormick is a professor of Management & Entrepreneurship and associate dean of Undergraduate Programs at Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business.

This month marks the tercentenary of Franklin's birth, whom McCormick refers to as "The Founding Father of American Business." In October, McCormick released Ben Franklin: America's Original Entrepreneur (Entrepreneur Press, 2005), the first and only modern adaptation of Franklin's classic 18th century Autobiography. Franklin's autobiography tells the story of his rise in business and McCormick's book makes this unique entrepreneurial story accessible to the modern business reader. McCormick also wrote Ben Franklin's 12 Rules of Management, published in 2000.

Later this month McCormick will travel to Philadelphia to represent Franklin's business and entrepreneurial interests at Franklin's 300th birthday celebration at the National Constitution Center. He will speak about Franklin's entrepreneurial legacy on January 18, 2006 at the Franklin Institute at 7:30 p.m. The event is open to the public.
