Newswise — The American Dental Association (ADA) announces the appointment of Ronald E. Inge, D.D.S, as associate executive director of its Division of Dental Practice, effective today.

Dr. Inge, a general dentist and veteran of 15 years in private practice and nine years in the dental benefits industry, will be responsible for the ADA policy-development division that includes practice management, dental benefit programs, access-to-care issues and disease prevention.

"His breadth of experience, combined with passion for the dental profession and keen understanding of the needs of private practicing dentists and the patients they serve will enable him to make invaluable contributions to the profession," said ADA Executive Director James B. Bramson, D.D.S, in announcing the appointment.

In his most recent position before joining the ADA, Dr. Inge served as chief dental officer for Aetna. Prior to that, he was vice president of professional services and chief dental officer at PMI Dental Health Plan, Delta of California. He also spent two years as an associate clinical professor at the University of California at San Francisco School of Dentistry.

Dr. Inge received his bachelor's degree from Stanford University and dental degree in 1981 from the UCLA School of Dentistry. After dental school, he settled in the San Francisco Bay area, opening his own practice in San Jose.

He and his wife will be relocating to the Chicago area.
