Experts and Sources for 2000 Presidential Election

Among the professors of political science at Swarthmore College are some of the nation's leading experts on national politics.

Campaign rhetoric and the politics of moral values

Carol Nackenoff, associate professor and chair: examines the kinds of appeals candidates make to voters, the coded language and the symbols they invoke, and the ways in which they rework American myths and stories. Public opinion, polling, campaigns, and elections

Keith Reeves, associate professor: studies American elections, minority voting patterns and how they will be affected by the 2000 Census, public opinion and democratic governance, the impact of polling on public opinion and public policy, and the rise of political consultants in election campaigns. Party politics and rise of internet voting

Richard Valelly, associate professor: an expert on American party politics, elections, social movements, public policy, and institutional evolution.
