H. Wayne Moyer Jr., professor of political science, Grinnell College; Ph.D., Yale University. Moyer directed the college's Rosenfield Program in Public Affairs, Human Rights, and International Relations for more than 20 years, bringing to campus renowned authorities on world politics. Moyer's research interest is in U.S. agriculture policy.

Sarah Purcell, director of the Rosenfield Program in Public Affairs, Human Rights, and International Relations; associate professor of history, Grinnell College; Ph.D., Brown University. Purcell's research interest is American history.

Jean Smiley Ketter, professor of education, Grinnell College; Ph.D., University of Kansas. Ketter served on a task force appointed by the National Council of Teachers of English to critique the design and use of SAT and ACT writing tests. Her published scholarly research has focused on promoting critical multicultural approaches to teaching literature in rural classrooms, writing instruction, and the ethics of high stakes writing assessment.

David Lopatto, professor of psychology, Grinnell College; Ph.D., Ohio University. Lopatto conducts "research on research," examining the effectiveness of student-faculty research. He is currently working on a book for Research Corporation about science pedagogy and the importance of personal development, including the growth of independence, self-confidence, and tolerance for obstacles in undergraduate research experiences.

Houston Dougharty, vice president for student affairs, Grinnell College. Dougharty has both small college and large university experience in working with college students' transitions, lifestyles, issues. Dougharty oversees Grinnell's student and professional staff in residence life and housing, student activities, international and multicultural student services, academic support, career development, health and counseling services, campus security, the chaplain's office, the campus center, and community service and social commitment.

Travis Greene, dean of students, Grinnell College. In addition to his doctoral work in college student personnel, Greene's previous experience includes director of campus life at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and at Iowa State, where he planned and implemented campus programming to foster support for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students.

Joyce Stern, dean of student academic support and advising. Stern and her staff assist students with time management, organization and planning, test preparation and study strategies, choosing a major, and obtaining accommodations for learning or physical disabilities.

Kathleen Powell, director of career development, Grinnell College. Powell has more than 20 years experience in higher education career services at liberal arts colleges including Knox College, Ashland University, and Marietta College where she was recognized for her work with students of color. A board member and vice-president of the National Association of Colleges and Employers, Powell also serves on the diversity advancement committee for the association.
