Newswise — Vaidhyanathan writes a popular blog called "The Googlization of Everything: How One Company is Disrupting Culture, Commerce and Community ... and Why We Should Worry," and is working on a book, "The Googlization of Everything." His other books include "Copyrights and Copywrongs" and "The Anarchist in the Library," he is a leading thinker on the big questions raised by the new Information Age. "The interaction between law and technology, and how that affects us as citizens, is at the core of everything I've worked on," he notes.

His take on the settlement, as quoted Wednesday in Inside Higher Ed: "When this whole project started four years ago, there were a lot of people declaring Google was striking a major blow for fair use and freer content, and this settlement I think shows there was a bit of hyperbole attached to those claims. Clearly neither Google nor the publishers wanted to roll the dice on that question."

He is frequently a source for national media, from NPR to "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart."
