Organizations will collaborate on medical education and training programs

Newswise — WASHINGTON – The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences signed a Letter of Intent with SEHA - Abu Dhabi Health Services Company during a ceremony on May 23, 2011. The two organizations will collaborate on future medical education and training programs.

The signing ceremony was attended by GW representatives Jeff Akman, M.D., Interim Vice Provost for Health Affairs and Dean, School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Huda Ayas, Ed.D., Executive Director, International Medicine Programs and Janan Sarkis, Program Director, International Medicine Programs. The following SEHA representatives attended the ceremony: Mohamed Hamad Al Hameli, Chief Support Services Officer; Ali Abdulkareem Alobaidli, M.D., Chief Clinical Officer; Ali Al Suwaidi, Head, Orthopedic Department, Sheikh Khalifa Medical City; and Omar Alshamsi, Deputy Chief of Mission, UAE Embassy in Washington, D.C. The areas of intended collaboration between SEHA and GW, which were identified in the Letter of Intent, are pre-residency training programs; residency training programs; fellowship training programs; short-term academic programs; clinical research training programs; and academic exchange programs.
