Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business, well known for its innovative and high quality MBA programs, introduced a new MBA specialization today in Healthcare Administration. The new specialization will be available starting in the Fall of 2003.

"This new specialization has been added to the Baylor MBA program in response to a growing need in the medical industry for people who can effectively manage complex medical systems," said Terry Maness, Dean of the business school.

The Healthcare Administration specialization will consist of six courses plus an internship, allowing students to apply classroom skills in progressive medical organizational settings. Field excursions and seminars with leading healthcare executives will assist students in gaining a first-hand introduction to the medical administration environment.

The seven-month internship is tailored to individual student interests and will be located in some of the finest healthcare organizations located throughout Texas, including Houston, Dallas, Waco and San Antonio. Opportunities also exist outside of Texas, including an internship in one of the nation's leading healthcare consulting firms in Washington, D.C.

Other specializations available in the Baylor MBA program include Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and International Business. MBA degrees available include the general MBA, MBA in Information Systems Management and MBA in International Management.
