Newswise — Add Biostatistics to the list of top-shelf, convenient, and competitively priced online prerequisite offerings from the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing (JHUSON).
The course, to launch this fall, aims to equip students to carry out common statistical procedures and to follow statistical reasoning in their fields of study. Principles of measurement and data analysis are examined in interactive and engaging ways, with the emphasis on applying fundamental concepts to real-world situations.
Registration is now open for all Hopkins Nursing prerequisites. As with the Human Growth and Development Through the Lifespan and Nutrition courses, Biostats comes with the promise of no wait list. Due to the popularity of the courses, the School of Nursing has created a system of enrollment that adds classes as soon as one fills up and, with a pool of expert “faculty in waiting,” assigns an additional faculty member when necessary.
"Biostatistics has been a missing piece of our online prereqs and we believe that the course will prove to be our most popular," said David Newton, executive director of professional programs at JHUSON. "The course has been developed at a very deliberate pace, making sure that it is of the same quality and effectiveness that is expected of the Hopkins name.”
