Newswise — AUSTIN, Texas — Jon Brumley Texas Venture Labs (TVL) at The University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business and Texas Venture Labs Investment Competition (TVLIC) champion, Progrys Field Solutions, will ring the Nasdaq Closing Bell on June 8 from 2:45 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. CDT at the Nasdaq MarketSite in New York City.

“It is a great honor and experience for Texas Venture Labs and the winning team of the Texas Venture Labs Investment Competition to visit the Nasdaq MarketSite and ring the Closing Bell,” said Harlan Beverly, assistant director of TVL. “We are so thankful to Nasdaq for giving TVL this opportunity each year.”

This year marked the 33rd annual TVLIC, with 25 startup companies consisting of graduate students from various disciplines across the UT Austin campus, pitching their business plans in shark-tank style competition.

Progrys Field Solutions, the 2016 TVLIC champion, is a software company that has developed digital mapping software to facilitate construction planning, scheduling, pulling materials on to project sites, and asset management in order to improve efficiency and productivity. Team members include Matthew Mato, Mark McKenzie, Saikiran Kolla, and Olu Kole-James, who are all 2016 graduates of the M.S. Technology Commercialization program at McCombs.
