Newswise — Neal Wilkinson, MD, has joined Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) as a physician and Associate Professor of Surgery in the Surgical Oncology department. Dr. Wilkinson’s appointment marks his return to RPCI, where he served a fellowship from 2001-2003. He arrives at RPCI from the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. His specialty is surgical oncology with a focus on gastrointestinal malignancies.

Dr. Wilkinson has accumulated numerous honors throughout his career, including being a two-time winner of the Outstanding Teaching Award, Surgical Residents from the University of Iowa. He is published in multiple formats and has been a presenter at prestigious conferences such as the Society of Surgical Oncology’s Annual Cancer Symposium and the Gastrointestinal Cancer Symposium.

He serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for several journals and publications and on cancer advisory committees at both the state and national levels. Dr. Wilkinson graduated from Tulane University. He completed a residency in general surgery at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
