Newswise — The board of directors of Cedars-Sinai Medical Group has announced that Howard Wynne, M.D., has been named Medical Director effective April 1, 2006. Dr. Wynne, a full-time internist with Cedars-Sinai Medical Group since 1998 and the group's Physician of the Year in 2002, will oversee the 75-member group of primary care and specialty physicians and their patient care practices.

"The Cedars-Sinai Medical Group, just recently recognized as one of the top five medical groups in Los Angeles by the Integrated Healthcare Association, will benefit greatly by having Dr. Wynne at its helm," said Thomas D. Gordon, Senior Vice President of Cedars-Sinai Medical Delivery Network and Chief Executive Officer of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Group. Dr. Wynne, who is board-certified in internal medicine, attended medical school at Loyola University of Chicago-Stritch School of Medicine, graduating cum laud. He then completed his residency training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in June 1997. Immediately thereafter, Howard was appointed the Chief Resident in the Department of Medicine from 1997-1998. He is an assistant clinical professor at UCLA School of Medicine and a member of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Wynne resides in West Los Angeles with his wife of nine years, Viviana, and their two children. Cedars-Sinai Medical Group consists of more than 75 primary care physicians and a full array of specialty services at five sites in the Los Angeles area. The group was recently named by the Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) as among the top five physician groups in Los Angeles and among the top 20 in California (of more than 225 participating physician groups) for clinical quality, patient satisfaction and use of information technology.
