NEW PARENTING MULTIMEDIA PROGRAM FROM AAP AND ORBIS
CHICAGO--The nations foremost authority on child health has teamed up with the largest producer of healthcare television programming to announce the release of a new parenting multimedia program entitled HealthAnswers for Parents: AGuide to Babys First Three Months.
The video portion, jointly produced by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Orbis Broadcast Group, presents common concerns and questions new parents face during the first few months after arriving home from the hospital with their new babies.
HealthAnswers for Parents uses light-hearted vignettes to present situations all parents encounter, like non-stop crying, to set up each topic. A team of four pediatricians then discuss issues and questions raised in the vignettes in a very personal, one-on-one manner. Through this technique viewers receive constructive and useful information that helps resolve and answer the issues and questions raised in the vignette. "This program allows us to make a team of pediatricians available 24 hours a day, online and on videotape, to help parents in their homes."
HealthAnswers for Parents will cover the following topics of interest to parents: crying, sleep problems, colic, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), bowel movements, feeding, colds and fevers, skin care, immunization and automobile safety.
HealthAnswers...the Internet The video also will have an accompanying interactive component in HealthAnswers (http://www.healthanswers.com), Orbis online consumer and physician information system. Parents will be able to access additional information on topics presented in the video.
