Newswise — STRATFORD – Dr. Jennifer Caudle, a family physician with the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine (RowanSOM) has been named the recipient of the “James M. Lally, DO, Emerging Leader Award” for 2013. The award, given by the American Osteopathic Foundation, was presented to Dr. Caudle during a Foundation event at the American Osteopathic Association’s national conference in Las Vegas, NV.
The Emerging Leader Award honors an osteopathic physician who has been in practice less than five years and whose accomplishments and actions have motivated and inspired others for the betterment of the osteopathic profession and for public health.
“It’s been said that leaders create the path for others to follow,” said Dr. Thomas Cavalieri, the dean of RowanSOM. “In Dr. Caudle’s strong commitment to her profession, her dedication to medical education and her creative approaches to public education, I see clear signs of a leader who forges her own path. I expect great things from her in the future.”
Dr. Caudle is an assistant professor at RowanSOM where, in addition to her patient care responsibilities, she serves as a mentor for both undergraduate and graduate medical students. She also provides on-air health expertise for local and national news networks, with appearances that include CNN, The Dr. Oz Show, Fox29 News Philadelphia, and CBS Philly 3 News. A national spokesperson for the American Osteopathic Association, Dr. Caudle is also well-known for her efforts to combat bullying in schools. More than 50,000 students, parents and educators around the country have attended lectures and workshops where Dr. Caudle helped them find practical solutions that can foster a “bully-proof” school environment.
Prior to joining the RowanSOM faculty, Dr. Caudle was the director of the Family Medicine section at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore where she was also a faculty member at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. A graduate of Princeton University, Dr. Caudle completed her medical education and residency at RowanSOM.
