Rethink Investments In Today's Market

Falling interest rates are encouraging for those seeking to buy new homes and cars, and for those seeking to refinance mortgages or other debt. But, what do falling interest rates mean for people now are facing lower interest rates on conservative investments such as certificates of deposit? Think about investing more in stocks rather than investments that depend solely on interests rate to grow, says UAB economics professor Bradley Wilson, Ph.D. "As the interest rate falls, there is less of an incentive to hold wealth in the form of interest-bearing assets, like CDs. Given that stock prices are overall down, increasing one's ownership of stocks is not a bad decision."
