Retired Assistant Surgeon General Marilyn H. Gaston, MD To Deliver Keynote Address At Women's Health Conference

WHAT: Three-day interdisciplinary conference on Enhancing Outcomes in Women's Health: Translating Psychosocial and Behavioral Research into Primary Care, Community Interventions and Health Policy, sponsored by the American Psychological Association (APA). The 400 presenters include: psychologists, psychiatrists, obstetricians, gynecologists, primary-care physicians, nurses, counselors, community health workers, public health educators and other specialists from around the nation.

The conference will focus on the diseases that are today's major killers and causes of disabilities of women, including arthritis, cardiovascular disease, cancer and diabetes. In addition, depression and health behaviors that contribute to these diseases will be examined, including smoking, obesity and lack of exercise.
