Texas Venture Labs Hosts Venture Expo at The University of Texas at Austin, May 6

Newswise — AUSTIN, Texas — Jon Brumley Texas Venture Labs (TVL) will host Venture Expo on Friday, May 6 at the AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center at The University of Texas at Austin.

Venture Expo is a daylong showcase of “Investor-Ready” startups from UT Austin and Central Texas. The event will feature the Texas Venture Labs Investment Competition (TVLIC) finals and TVL Accelerator company presentations. Attendance typically ranges between 300-400 investors, entrepreneurs, and students.

The TVLIC finals will take place in the morning, five teams comprised of UT Austin graduate students will pitch their business plans to a panel of judges consisting of entrepreneurs and investors. Nexus Building Systems, Barkley’s Canine Cuisine, Mednoxa, Kwaddle, and Quick Plan Solutions moved on to the finals by beating out 20 other teams in the semi-finals on Friday, April 29 at UT Austin.

Following the TVLIC finals, TVL Accelerator companies will present their business plans and advertise any vacancies for investors, employees and advisers. Presenting companies will include all current TVL Accelerator members.. The presentations are split into blocks based on their market segment of life sciences, consumer goods and services and technology.

Venture Expo will conclude with a reception where the TVLIC final winners will be announced along with the winners of the Wells Fargo Clean Technology Challenge, Nemec Elevator Challenge and Veterans Award.
