Newswise — Registration is now open for The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society’s (TMS) 139th Annual Meeting & Exhibition in Seattle, Washington, where materials scientists, engineers, educators, students, and industry leaders from around the globe will gather at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center February 14-18, 2010.
All attendees who register prior to the January 15, 2010 deadline will receive $100 off the on-site rate. In addition, any organization that registers five or more attendees is eligible to receive a discounted rate of $415 per registrant—a savings of $160–$310 each.
“The annual meeting is a fast and fact-filled few days where you can give your career a jump start,” said TMS President Ray D. TMS 2010 will feature lectures on advances in materials science and engineering technology and applications, educational courses, student activities, and a comprehensive exhibition of new products and technologies in the materials field.
The technical program includes 55 symposia encompassing the following seven technical themes: Advanced Characterization and Modeling; Aluminum and Magnesium; Electronic Materials; High Performance Structural Materials; Materials and Society; Materials Processing and Production; and Nanoscale and Amorphous Materials.
Rounding out the conference experience will be nearly a dozen receptions; the TMS Awards Banquet; the Women in Science breakfast; and a variety of student activities including the TMS Materials Bowl competition and Student Poster Contest.
