Newswise — The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS) now offers eight customized RSS (Really Simple Syndication) news feeds to view the latest Society and materials technology information that's delivered directly to the desktop.

Rather than scouting around for articles or Society news, users of these feeds will have the opportunity to receive the latest information from specific materials technology communities or areas of interest.

RSS news dispenses news and features posted on various TMS Web pages, including MaterialsTechnology@TMS, the Society's on-line communities that focus on four subjects: education, emerging materials, established materials, and materials and society.

The RSS news feeds are offered in the following areas: "¢ Best of TMS News Feed"¢ TMS e-News Feed"¢ MaterialsTechnology@TMS: All Feeds"¢ MaterialsTechnology@TMS: Education Feed"¢ MaterialsTechnology@TMS: Materials and Society Feed"¢ MaterialsTechnology@TMS: Emerging Materials Technology Feed"¢ MaterialsTechnology@TMS: Established Materials Technology Feed"¢ TMS Home Page News Feed

Subscribers to the TMS RSS news feeds receive news and articles through an RSS News Aggregator, or "Reader."

TMS RSS features a Reader for Yahoo! users who can add custom feeds to their My Yahoo! Page. Just like the words represented in the acronym RSS, setting up a Reader and selecting a news feed are Really Simple.

To sign up for a TMS RSS subscription and view options for selecting a Reader and accessing feeds, visit www.tms.org and click on the orange auto-discovery icon in the grey TMS log-in bar. "The Best of the TMS" RSS news feed also appears on the TMS company page on LinkedIn, a professional social networking site.
