As a new study adds doubt to the value of mammograms, experts counter that it remains a valuable and lifesaving screening tool.

Robin Shermis, MD, MPH, is medical director of ProMedica Toledo Hospital’s Breast Care Center. He is available to discuss the benefits of screening mammograms.

Dr. Shermis is a board-certified radiologist specializing in breast imaging. He completed his fellowship and residency at University of Michigan Hospitals in Ann Arbor, Mich. He earned his Medical Doctorate from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
