Newswise — Evan Bradford Price, MD, an ophthalmologist who specializes in neuro-ophthalmology and cataract surgery, has joined Loyola University Health System. Dr. Price is board certified in ophthalmology.
He earned his medical degree and performed his residency at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Ill. He performed his fellowship at the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System in Chicago, Ill.
Dr. Price also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in human biology from Stanford University in Stanford, CA. He joins Loyola from a private practice and also has been on staff at Edward Hines, Jr. VA in Hines, Ill. Dr. Price will continue to be on staff at Hines in addition to practicing at Loyola.
His professional memberships include the American Medical Association, Chicago Medical Society, Illinois State Medical Society, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, Chicago Ophthalmological Society, Illinois Association of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
“It is a great privilege to return to work at Loyola where I attended medical school now as an experienced ophthalmologist,” says Dr. Price, an assistant professor at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. “Loyola ophthalmology is very progressive and I look forward to not only doing very advanced procedures unique to academic medicine but also conducting more research to benefit eye patients.”
Dr. Price will see eye patients at the Loyola University Medical Center Maywood campus as well as the Loyola Center for Health at Burr Ridge.
The Department of Ophthalmology offers a complete range of comprehensive eye care. All Loyola ophthalmology physicians are board certified and most have subspecialty fellowship training. Together with Loyola optometrists, the ophthalmologists offer comprehensive diagnostic services and personalized treatment for adults and children. As a tertiary care facility, the ophthalmology department uses the most current, state-of-the-art equipment and procedures.
