The Canadian health care model was frequently cited by both sides of the debate in Congress. To comment on the Canadian system, and on what the future might hold for Americans, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Canada’s leading health research agency, has identified two internationally renowned researchers who can speak about the policy and cost components of a universal heath care plan.
Dr. Mark Stabile, a CIHR-funded researcher and Director, School of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Toronto, is available to discuss the economics of health care in Canada and the U.S. and the costs of sustainability as aging baby boomers flood the system in both countries.
Dr. Peter Coyte, a CIHR-funded researcher and Professor of Health Economics in the Department of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, is available to discuss health economics, health policy, and health services research as well as the cost benefit analysis of care for immigrants.
