Newswise — Babson College’s Women Innovating Now (WIN) Lab will host its Women’s Entrepreneurship Summer Soiree at the Fields Corner Business Lab in Boston on Thursday, June 4, 2015.

The WIN Lab, a yearlong residency program within Babson’s Center for Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership (CWEL), invites entrepreneurs of all kinds to enjoy a free, one-of-a-kind networking event alongside local women business leaders and entrepreneurial resource providers.

2015 Summer SoireeThe soiree is part of the City of Boston’s Women on Main Initiative, created to support the growth of Boston’s women-owned businesses, and to help strengthen connections amongst themselves and the city. This past year, Babson’s WIN Lab joined Women on Main and offered five non-Babson entrepreneurs a tuition-free seat at the Lab to be the first-ever Women on Main Fellows.

Commenting on the collaboration between Babson and the City of Boston, Mayor Martin J. Walsh adds, “This partnership enhances not only women’s access to top-level mentoring and education, but is also critical to the success of Boston’s business community as a whole. Although one-third of Boston businesses are owned by women, we want to grow that number, because when women succeed, Boston succeeds.”

“We’re continuously looking for new ways to build lasting connections between local women entrepreneurs and the City’s many resources,” said Susan Duffy, Executive Director of Babson’s Center for Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership. “The WIN Lab, events like this Soiree, and the Women on Main Initiative alongside Mayor Walsh, provide women with the tools they need to transform their entrepreneurial potential into entrepreneurial impact.”

Event attendees will meet to learn more about entrepreneurs in their community, and will be introduced to available resources within the greater entrepreneurship ecosystem. Additional information will also be provided in regards to the WIN Lab’s Women on Main Fellows Program, and next steps. More information at http://bit.ly/1FedzNr
